A thin, removable cardboard slide locks
the film door shut. The strip is pointed at one end for easy insertion
and has a little tab at the top for easy removal.
When the camera was new, it had a U-shaped wire handle (made from a
bent paper clip) that folded flat against the camera in the recessed
area visible in the photo. To open the camera for loading and
unloading, I would remove the cardboard slide, fold out the handle, and
pull on the handle to open the door. The handle was damaged and lost
many years ago.
