Bumpomov became Bumpomov's Dogs (I changed the simple spaceships
into dogs) and the game was offered for sale by the Atari Program
Exchange (APX). I think APX sold at least a few copies at a computer
show in San Francisco in early 1984, where they gave away hundreds
of Bumpomov's Dogs helium balloons as a promotion. However, I
never received any royalties. Atari and the computer game market
collapsed, and I haven't written any games since.
At one point APX was thinking about giving away bumper stickers instead
of balloons at the computer show. They asked me for some ideas, which
you can see below.
