4-MEI in Pancake Syrup and Arsenic in Rice

A look at health warnings in Consumer Reports magazine

In the following essays, I analyze two articles published in Consumer Reports magazine: one on the chemical known as 4-MEI, present in artificial coloring used in pancake syrup and cola drinks; and another article on the presence of the harmful element arsenic in rice. I explain why I think these warnings raise undue alarm and fear among readers.
